Gutter Cleaning Services in Tallahassee
A cleaning is priced mostly by how high the gutters are and how badly they're packed. These are the parts of the job a quote may list separately.

One-Story and Two-Story Gutter Cleaning
HomeGuide's per-foot rates climb with each story, because two- and three-story homes need extended ladders and extra safety equipment:
- One story. $0.50 to $1.50 per linear foot
- Two stories. $0.75 to $2.00 per linear foot
- Three or more. $1.25 to $2.50 per linear foot
Some companies charge by the hour instead, at $40 to $80, and some add $20 to $35 to haul the debris away. On a 2,000- to 2,500-square-foot home the whole job usually comes to $100 to $250. A ranch house with long, low runs is the cheap end of every range; a steep two-story roof is the expensive end.

Downspout Flushing
A downspout that doesn't drain during rain is clogged. Basic cleaning includes a flush, but heavily clogged downspouts cost $60 to $150 extra, which puts the full job at $160 to $400 (HomeGuide). Ask whether the cleaner brings water or needs your outside hose.
Underground Drain Clearing
Where downspouts feed buried pipe, the clog can sit underground where a hose from the top won't reach. None of the cost guides we read prices this separately, so ask whether the quote covers flushing the buried line to its outlet. After the visit, run a hose into the downspout and check that water comes out the far end.
Cleaning Under Gutter Guards
Guards cut the work but don't end it. HomeGuide says gutters with guards need cleaning about every two years, more often with many trees around the house, because small particles still get through. Lifting a screen to clean underneath adds $30 to $80. Fine mesh also needs its top surface brushed off; gutter guards compares how each type clogs.
How Often Under Pines and Oaks
HomeGuide's general advice is two to three cleanings a year, or one before the rainiest season, with the number set by the climate and the trees nearby. Under heavy canopy, plan on the higher number. Cleaners are busiest in spring and late fall, and HomeGuide suggests booking in early winter or midsummer for quicker service and lower rates. Signs a cleaning is overdue:
- Overflow. Water spilling over the front of the gutter or leaking at the joints
- Stains. Streaks down the siding under the gutter line
- Pooling. Water collecting along the foundation after rain
- Growth. Plants or animal nests in the gutter
- Time. No cleaning in more than a year

What a Gutter Cleaning Visit Includes
HomeGuide's list of what a cleaning usually covers is a good checklist for comparing quotes, because not every company includes every item:
Debris out and hauled off
Leaves, needles and silt removed and bagged or carried awayFlush
Water run through each gutter and downspout to confirm flowAlgae
Moss and algae scrubbed off the inside and the gutter face wiped cleanGuards
Screens or covers cleaned, if you have themSmall fixes
Loose fasteners, seals and end caps tightened or resealedInspection
A look at the gutters, the fascia and the roof edge
Time on site depends on how long it's been since the last cleaning, the weather, the roof slope, whether guards have to come off, and whether the ground around the house is level enough for a ladder.
If the roof itself is streaked, HomeGuide prices a roof cleaning at $250 to $600 and says many companies discount it when it's booked with the gutters. Roof cleaning explains the soft-wash method shingles need.
A roofer on the ladder is well placed to spot trouble at the eaves. Ask for photos of anything found: a hanger pulling out, a seam that drips during the flush, or fascia that feels soft. Those go to gutter repair rather than another cleaning.
